Christmas in Ecuador is becoming more commercialised in the big cities, but is a very quiet affair in rural areas.  A farmstay holiday could be an ideal way to escape Christmas altogether, if that is your choice, or at least avoid the hype and commercialisation and focus on the spiritual or family aspects of the Christmas vacations rather than on overpriced Christmas gifts. 

You could have a quiet Christmas holiday on a rural farm in beautiful Ecuador.  If you want Christmas decorations and a turkey dinner, let us know in advance.  Bring any Christmas gifts with you, because there is very little to buy locally in this unspoilt, undeveloped area.  The local church will no doubt be delighted to welcome you to their Christmas nativity service if you would like to attend.

If you prefer to escape Christmas altogether, just let us know and you could spend the holidays on a farmstay without a single bit of tinsel in sight.  Christmas is not a major event in this rural area so if you wish to avoid the Christmas celebrations and simply enjoy a quiet retreat in the natural beauty of the mountains, a farmstays vacation could be the ideal option. 

Whether or not you celebrate Christmas while you are here in Ecuador, you´ll plant a tree for each night of your stay, so your "Christmas trees" will benefit the local environment for years to come.
